Have no idea what you’re doing with life?

Have no idea what you’re doing with life?

What would you do if at some point you realize you have no idea what you’re doing with life?

I’m sure many of you are at this point right now. You don’t know what you’re doing in your personal and professional life. You don’t have a single clue about your next move and you feel you are stuck in life.

Maybe because you’re seeing people on social media doing well and here you are, doing nothing and earning nothing.

Maybe because you want to do many things, but don’t know where to start.

Maybe you are always looking at the dark side of life, being pessimistic and taking yourself too seriously.

Maybe you are jobless, broke and not being to help yourself and your family financially.

Maybe you feel you are already 25 (or your age), and you haven’t accomplished anything yet.

So many maybes, all because you are doubting yourself. Yes, you read that right. You are self-doubting a lot. I can say this because I was the person who self-doubted a lot. In fact, I still do sometimes, but I try not to.

Most often, the feeling of not knowing what you’re doing with life is a result of negative thoughts building inside your head. The more you dwell on the thought, the more uncertain and anxious you will feel about your future. These are transient confusion we all face when we have no vision of what we want to do with our lives. But the good news is we all go through these moments where we do not understand what is going on, and the truth is, I don’t think anyone has it all figured out.

If nobody has told you this, let me be the first one to tell you that the ideas like ‘purpose of life’ is all self-made fabrication, which often becomes the greatest hindrance of our growth and happiness. You first create a goal and then you feel frustrated because you fail to achieve it? You first believe that ideals set by other people and then make your life miserable chasing those ideals? You will eventually find the so-called ‘purpose of life’ when you get to involve yourself in something and keep doing that thing.

Most of the time you are living in your head. You are making things up which hasn’t even happened yet and worrying about it. You’re doubting yourself and thinking negative. You are creating your own dark clouds over your head. But let me remind you, the mind is more powerful than you think it is. Our mind can transform those thoughts into a reality. It is the law of attraction. What if you are in this situation right now because you were thinking exactly the same, some time ago? Start thinking positively no matter how hard the situation is and stop taking yourself too seriously. Stop feeling burdensome about the responsibilities you have and keep moving forward. Take pressure in a positive way.

Own up to everything you have done, face the consequences and see it as an experience.

Do you have regrets? Have you failed? Are you in a difficult situation?

Yes?

Can you do anything about it?

Yes? Then do it.

No?

What can you do?

Change the way you think, accept it, be a better person going forward every day in your life.

Remember, you’re a human, you’re not perfect and you’re allowed to make mistakes.

Just don’t give up. Don’t ever lose hope. Be a little courageous for yourself, love yourself, think positively no matter what, and most important, believe in yourself.

Think positively, believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable.

What is Data Warehouse?

What is Data Warehouse?

A Data Warehouse is a central place where data is stored from different data sources and applications. It consists of data from multiple heterogeneous data sources.

Data is information processed or stored by a computer where the information may be in the form of text, images, audio clips, software programs, or other types of data. A warehouse is a large building where raw materials or manufactured goods may be stored prior to their distribution for sale. So basically, a data warehouse is the place or repository where all the data are stored.

data_warehouse

You can see from the above image that the data is coming from different sources to a Data Warehouse. A data warehouse stores both current and historical data.

To build a data warehouse, you first need to copy the raw data from each of the data sources, cleanse, and optimize it. The process of getting data into a data warehouse is called ETL: Extract, Transform, Load.

A data warehouse is very important for large enterprises because it helps the company in product development, marketing, price strategy, production time, historical analysis, forecasting and customer satisfaction. The data in a data warehouse is used for analytical reporting, data mining and analysis which is later used by Business Analyst, Sales Manager or Knowledge workers for decision-making and future strategies.

For example, an e-commerce business having a data warehouse can analyze its data to recognize what product is mostly purchased by the age-group of 18-22 to display similar or related products in the recommendation.

Data warehouse databases provide a decision support system (DSS) environment in which the performance of an entire enterprise can be evaluated over time. In the broadest sense, the term data warehouse is used to refer to a database that contains very large stores of historical data. The data is stored as a series of snapshots, in which each record represents data at a specific time. By analyzing these snapshots, you can make comparisons between different time periods. You can then use these comparisons to help make important business decisions.

Growing E-Commerce Business in Nepal

Growing E-Commerce Business in Nepal

E-commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services, or transmitting of funds or data, over the internet. E-commerce today is popularly known as online shopping. Online shopping was invented by Michael Aldrich in 1979. Since then, a lot of e-commerce websites have been launched, out of which Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart, eBay, etc. are the internationally leading ones.

E-commerce started in Nepal in 1999 and thamel.com is the one who pioneered e-commerce in Nepal. Thamel.com was started as a platform for sending gifts and money online, promoting “Send Gifts to Nepal” and was targeted to Nepali people living abroad. It has been more than a decade since its launch, and thanks to technological advancement, e-commerce sites are mushrooming and has become kind of a trend nowadays. From groceries to books, clothes, services, electric appliances, vehicles, houses, and land, we can buy everything online.

thamel.com logo

E-commerce thing was not so popular few years back in Nepal like it is today. With the recent entry of global players like daraz.com.np (initially kaymu.com), the e-commerce sector has started to heat up and has influenced many buyers and sellers to go online, which is a good thing. People have finally started to buy and sell stuff online. In short, online shopping is gaining momentum in Nepal.

daraz

Why would people buy online? Well, the comfort of buying stuff sitting in your living room, sipping a cup of tea, going over a range of products through your smartphone or a laptop, saves time, energy and travel cost. The goods get delivered on your doorstep, so you don’t have to worry about anything and just do you work. That’s the beauty of online shopping.

Despite online shopping heating up in Nepal, many people still think twice before purchasing online. People are still skeptical about online shopping. There are a lot of challenges that e-commerce companies have to go through too.  Online shopping is called so because everything should happen online but the online payment gateway in Nepal is very limited, so the only alternative is ‘Cash on Delivery’ service. We have online payment platforms like eSewa, iPay, HelloPaisa, Khalti but still, the online transactions are narrow. The another most important factor is delivery and logistics. The delivery service seems okay in Kathmandu valley, but it’s awful in other parts of Nepal. If these two things are to be developed, the e-commerce market in Nepal is sure to rise.

In spite of such challenges, some e-commerce companies are doing really well in Nepal. Foodmandu is doing a really good business. Similarly, muncha.com, metrotarkari.com, merokirana.com, bhatbhatenionline.com, sastodeal.com, etc. are also doing good. The saying “Where there is a will, there is a way” suits perfectly in this context. Through this blog, I also want to wish them success and encourage wantrepreneurs to start their own e-commerce business. If you can combine e-commerce with an innovative idea, it is sure to work.
